Many churches face the same challenge: aging facilities and limited capital to invest in meaningful improvements. While grant funding and incentive programs exist—particularly for renovation and energy-related projects—most organizations don’t have the time or awareness to track them down, let alone navigate the application process. Our client, a Methodist church in Sterling, Virginia was no exception. Like many congregations, they had ideas for improving their space but needed financial support to make those plans a reality. At Trimark, our work goes beyond HVAC service and maintenance. As part of our ongoing relationship with any faith-based or community organization, we actively look for opportunities that help our clients maximize their facility investments. When we identified a national grant opportunity for renovation and construction projects, we flagged it for the church’s leadership team. We then supported their application by helping gather and clarify the technical and facility-related information required for submission. The church was awarded approximately $75,000 in grant funding. Those funds are now being used to transform their sanctuary into a flexible fellowship hall, allowing the church to better support community events, gatherings, and ministry activities—without placing additional financial strain on the congregation.
